For many tasks, you may need to click test print out on a distinctive customized document or large format inkjet printer. A complete example is printing a custom thank you note or custom greeting card. That’s it. You just have defined a customized paper type.
To set up a printer which could handle this job, it is going to require the presence of one or more printer”heads”. This is like printer cartridges that are individual. Some printers can handle more than 1 type of head at a time. Other times, there is just 1 head that will do it all. Then you will find printers that are”plug and play” methods – they plug into the printer and then there is not any additional setup to configure.
Once the custom paper dimensions are defined and the proper printer head has been placed in place, the next step is to get and install a print driver. The print driver will serve as the connection between the customized printer and the graphics software. In other words, it connects both together and enables the images software to read the custom paper sizes that have been defined and uploaded into the printer.
When the custom paper sizes are downloaded, the printer will then configure itself to use those custom paper sizes. At the stage, it is as straightforward as picking up the telephone book or online dialup connection and dialing the number for the service that’s supplying the printing services. You’ll get a call in the service that will provide the print driver to your printer – it is going to be the exact same as what you would have gotten from any office supply store.
When the driver is installed, the printer must pick up the new size and colour and then publish. There should not be any alterations made to the newspaper feeders or the print heads. If there are adjustments needed, they need to be made prior to installation of the drivers. This will ensure your printers will print in the new size and color that you need.
There are other considerations to think about with printing to a new custom page size. By way of example, printers that have a color management system will create nicer images when resized to a new size. Some printers may even adjust the brightness of the text automatically to make it easier to browse. The printing capabilities of some newer printers are much more than their predecessors. Take some time to explore the capabilities of your printers and think about printing to a new custom page size if that’s what you have to do.
